Misconceptions of PPC – Search Engine Marketing Series

This post will explain on the Misconceptions of PPC.
Many of us may have heard of the Search Engine Marketing method “Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)” and knows that this is the way of ranking on the Firstpage of the Search Engine Result. However, many of you may not know that there is another method “Pay-Per-Click (PPC)” which is also part of Search Engine Marketing that helps you to make your website on the Firstpage of the Search Engine Result.
Website that uses PPC method is in fact “purchasing” an advertisement space on the search engine result. Ranking of website under the advertisement spaces depends greatly on the bidding of the keywords. Hence, since it is a purchasing Ad space, it will be rank instantly.
Whereas for website that uses the SEO method will be rank naturally under the Organic Listing. Which needs to take a minimum of 6 months to see results. Website rank under the Organic Listing creates a high visibility and higher credibility. How is that so?? To be rank on the Firstpage under the search engine result, one website needs to go through the stringent rating by Goggle algorithm which take in 200 different factors (e.g relevancy, traffic rates, content…etc)
So what are the common misconception of these 2 methods. Let begin with PPC…
Misconception 1: “PPC is EXPENSIVE!”
- The reason why many will find it expensive is because many do not closely maintain their own campaign. They do not monitor or make wise decision on each cents pent. Causing the advertising budget to be spend on unnecessary keywords that do not CONVERT.

Misconception 2: “Google Adword tool is free, I can manage myself”
- Google Adword tools is free to use and you can too manage your own campaigns. However it questions to ask yourself again when you decide not to engage a specialist is that:
“Do you have the time to maintain and monitor it closely?
“Can you make sure the money spent is effectively bringing you POSITIVE returns?”

Misconception 3: “Anyone can simply click on my ads, wasting my budget”
- This is definitely true if you do not know how to manage the Adwords use correctly. If you are worried about your competitors sabotaging your campaigns, Goggle had its algorithm set to ensure that sabotaging is reduce to the very minimal.
